We had a power outage for almost 6 hours this evening (and into the night). We had to light candles to make our way around the house.

After the power went out, but before it got dark, the kids and us played lots of this.

Ooooohhhhh!!! Well now that makes perfect sense. I'm not sure my fridge/freezer ever came back on. We came back from vacation to a totally defrosted freezer, warm milk, etc. It stunk! My mom had just taken me to Costco the day prior to load me up. I had to dump everything! I thought I had done so well cost-wise on this vacation, only to have to throw away hundreds of dollars of food when I got home. What a disappointment!
Doh! I think that power outages are divine conspiracies to help the birth rates out a bit (all those spirits gotta have bodies, you know). Of course those same-sexers aren't helping matters much. Now here's a test, check out all the wards in the black out area next May and see how many baby blessings there are...
